Though this was only the third pasty I'd ever tried in my life, it was definitely the best.
The crust was wonderfully flaky and the filling was filling (ba dum tss) as well as flavorful and delicious. I had the Thai vegetable pasty and my friend had the cheese and onion, and both had delicious improvements to the typical pasty, with a nice amount of heat with the Thai and a really beautiful flavor of cheese with the C&O.
We also shared a slice of the raspberry cheesecake and the raspberry filling had real raspberries, and I could eat the crust on its own.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this store with it's wide range if flavors, friendly staff, and delicious desserts. -

As embarrassing as it seems in retrospect, when we first moved here and had no kitchen we got our dinners here practically every night with the excellent "happy hour" 2-for-1 deal that they use to clean out whatever is left over at the end of the day. Once happy hour kicks in, they close as soon as they sell out, so you really do need to get there right as it ticks over. We tried a number of different pasties over time (luckily it's not always the same ones left over) and you know what? These are just really good pasties. I'm not even mad that I had to live off of them for so long, and I'd go back even now that I have a kitchen if pasties in general weren't just so bad for you haha. They had a lot of really creative flavors, but I still always found myself going back to the "original" (and of course, the large sized one at that!). A must if you like pasties, or are on a budget :)

Having just written a pretty glowing review for the West Cornwall pasty company, I have to say this place does just beat it.
They've got a great range of flavours, almost too many as it's too hard to decide, so I ended up going for the standard 'traditional'. I wasn't disappointed - the filling was tasty and the pastry perfect, the right mix of flake and stodge.
They do have other stuff here too - sandwiches, paninis - but I can't imagine I'll ever get past the pasties to try them. -

You can take the girl out of the West Country but you can't take the West Country out of the girl. Like Tasha S., I too am a Somerset lass and it takes a lot to impress me, pasty-wise. I'd say my grandma probably makes the best pasties in Devon, but I suppose I'm biased...
I often find that shop-bought pasties are a bit of a let down, too-thick pastry filled with lots of potato and not enough of anything else. This was not my experience of Our Cornish Pasty Shop. I went for a classic steak pasty and it quite literally knocked my socks off! The meat was tender, the pastry was just the right consistency...watch out granny, you've got new competition!! The range of pasties is just right...not so many that you're left confused, but enough that you aren't left with a simple meat or veggie decision. I'm a bit scared of some of the more unusual ones, like Chicken Tikka...I am of the opinion that a pasty should stick to the original rules!
The shop itself is nice, the staff friendly and they have a few tables outside. This is the best place to go if you want a little piece of the West Country in Brighton! -

Our Cornish Pasty Shop, a Brighton-based business with another branch on Queen's Road, provides decent, wholesome pasties. Like cornish pasty, peppered steak, chicken tikka, sausage rolls, veggie ones and they even make their own vegan ones! They do free delivery too, with a branded bike you may see around the city.
The Somerset born owner is a bit of a pastry expert it seems, also owning I's Pies up the road. Pasties are hot without being sogged up by a microwave, and good prices at £1.55 - £3.15. Being from Somerset myself, a bit of wholesome pastry goodness always goes down well and these are no exception, in fact the best I've had in Brighton!
